About The Railway Butchers
The Railway Butchers is a traditional local butcher at 9 Oriental Road, Woking, run by Craig Knowlden.
Craig has 18 years' experience in butchery, including managing several shops along the way. After all that time running other people's counters, he decided it was time to open his own, and The Railway Butchers is the result.
Where our meat comes from
We buy from farmers and suppliers we know, and as close to home as we can.
- Pork: free range, from within 20 miles of the shop
- Lamb: free range, mostly from local farmers we know and trust
- Beef: steaks such as fillet and sirloin are dry aged
- Game: wild venison and pheasant from Alton, plus rabbit (wild or farmed depending on the season)
- Chicken: free range, from Suffolk
- Duck: free range, from Devon
Made here in the shop
Our sausages are made in house with free range meat. Our bacon and gammon are dry cured and cut thick, and our gammon has no added water. We also make our own kievs, katsu sauce, stuffings, and the mushroom pâté and pastry for our Wellingtons.
